We are the Derksen family. We love God, music and each other. We desire to share the life changing blessing of loving and obeying Jesus.

Ministry History

Sharing music with others all began in our local church. Many years ago Heidi and Levi sang a song about Mary and Joseph and were subsequently asked to sing it for the Community Carol Festival. From there we were invited to bring programs at our local nursing homes, senior’s center and other community special occasions. People from out of town who happened to be visiting relatives at these events heard us and invited us to their community and soon we were travelling in an ever expanding circle around our home to bless others with the music that God has given us.

We sing and play a variety of music from a Christian perspective including hymns, gospel songs, Christian classical, and more. We play piano, harp, violin, viola, cello, guitar, mandolin, banjo, trumpet, trombone, french horn, tuba, and flute. Each child chose an instrument at age 6 and many have decided to add more instruments along the way!

So in the same program there may be a gospel song accompanied by mandolin and guitar, a brass quintet playing a hymn arrangement, a string quartet and maybe even a song composed by our mom with lyrics about what God is teaching us.

Derksen Family Farm

Besides the orchards, we grow many different types of vegetables, selling some to stores, as farm gate sales, and of course, we make use of a lot ourselves. All of our food is grown as naturally as possible but to keep the volume of paperwork under control, only the cherries and apples are certified organic.

In 2004 we moved out of town into the country. Then in 2006 we planted over a thousand cherry trees. During the next couple of years we planted an apple orchard, little knowing what we were getting ourselves into.
