Spring Work – Part II
We finished planting our garden on Wednesday. Here are some pictures.
We raced to see who could get the most rows of potatoes planted!
Some transplanted tomatoes.
Micah with the Earthway seeder, a handy gadget which digs your row to the depth you set it, plants the seed, covers it and marks the specified distance to your next row! The only down side is that you can’t soak your seeds or water your rows before you plant so hopefully the seeds do well as we have not had much rain yet!
This year the older boys rented 2 acres of land from a nearby farmer because they wanted to plant some of their carrot crop in sandy soil. They also set things up so they can have three sprinklers going at once using water from the nearby slough. If you enlarge this picture, you can see 2 of the sprinklers running.
The pump running the three sprinklers.
Genesis 2:15 – And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
Sword Smuggler
Since when I was young, I have always enjoyed reading books about Brother Andrew- God’s Smuggler, and other such stories about Christians who had to smuggle God’s Word into the atheistic Iron Curtain. And I have always wanted to make a video about Bible Smuggling. So here is Sword Smuggler, a modern enactment about what it could have been like to bring God’s Word into the Communist Soviet Union!
And take the helmet of salvation, and the SWORD of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Ephesians 6:17
Spring Work
Here are some of the things we have been doing this spring.
Cultivating one of the carrot patches.
We pruned 18 of the 34 cherry tree rows and all 20 rows of apples recently.
Chipper shredding the branches.
Micah mowing the orchard.
Taking down the rink boards so we could plant the garden.
More pictures to come!!
