Skating

Yesterday we had our first skate for the winter on our pond. It was really fun. Here are some pictures.Getting our skates on!

Getting our skates on!

We asked Dad when he had just woken up if we could skate on the pond which had just frozen over and he said we had to wear life jackets because the ice was only 3 inches  thick….even though the pond is only about 4 feet deep:)

We had a lot of fun out in God’s creation!

The Trays

Joshua made 4 fold-away trays to replace our old trays which were getting quite rickety. First he took apart the old trays and kept the top board. He sanded it,  put veneer on top,  put new edges around it and stained it. He made brand new legs which are much sturdier than the old legs were. He also built a new rack to store the trays.

Lots of vegetables this summer! This is all from one picking of peas!

The carrot digger

This is a carrot digger that Jesse made. It digs around the carrots to loosen our hard soil so we can pull carrots easily right out of the ground.

Takes a little weight to push it into the ground!
