Creation Speaker and Creation Snacks!!

On Friday, Sept. 15th, we had Thomas Bailey, a speaker from Creation Ministries International come to our church. It was a very informative evening about how evolution is impossible. He also showed how the rest of the Bible is very tied to Genesis and that Jesus quoted from there.

Mom arranged for people to bring Creation snacks (The Seven Days of Creation). Below are some pictures. Sorry, some are a bit blurry : ).

Anyone for some “Ocean Punch”?

Genesis 1:1- In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Fishing Trip!

On June 15, we went up to Big River for a Father-son fishing trip with our church. We caught many fish as a group but only kept a few.  The biggest fish caught was about 30 inches and the smallest was about 12 inches (that made it into the boat).

Matthew 13:47-50. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:

Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.

So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,

And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Other Things In San Antonio

After the CWVFF conference ended (in March…sorry we have been busy!), Dad and I went to pick up a car so we could get to the different tourist things that we were going to see during the next 2 days. It took about five minutes to get to the rental agency from our hotel with a shuttle. Once Dad got all the stuff figured out, we drove away and took the wrong turn (the GPS told us to) and went a long way away from where we wanted to go so finally we stopped and checked the GPS and realized that we had it set for the wrong place. When we got back close to the hotel, there were roads below us and above so we couldn’t tell which exit to take so we took the same wrong exit many times . We could see our hotel below us but we couldn’t get there. We finally decided not to rely on the GPS and we got to our hotel pretty quick! (about 45 min.)!

Sunday morning we attended a large Baptist Church that had a choir and orchestra. Here are a few pictures about other things we did after church and Monday before we flew out:

San Fernando Cathedral

Mom and Dad in front of the San Fernando Cathedral. This Cathedral is in downtown San Antonio and when it gets dark they have a laser light show on the front of the cathedral about the history of  Texas. We didn’t want to stay there till the evening so we didn’t see it.

Scooter Power Tours

One of the highlights was going on the Scooter Power Tour! The scooters went up 20 mph! We went on a 2 hour tour.

The Alamo

Mom decided not to come on the scooter tour, but instead tour the Alamo which is a famous fort in Texas history.

Scooter Power Tours

Dad, Micah and I on the scooter tour in front of the downtown area of the River Walk which is a famous 15 mile network of walk ways along the banks of the San Antonio River. There are barges floating down the river giving tours and many restaurants along the walkway.

Natural Bridge Cavern

Another thing we did was go to the Natural Bridge Cavern.

Column

Stalagmites and Stalactites that joined together to make some columns.

We had an enjoyable time at San Antonio and hope  we can go back again someday.

Psalm 24:1 – The earth is the Lord‘s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

Winter Activities

This winter we have done a couple activities with family and friends. We have x-country skied and also had a curling evening on Family Day!

Mr. Noel sends a shot up the ice.

A skip, showing where to aim for.

Younger curlers showing the older ones the game:)

Approximately 50 people showed up (not all played, or else it might have gotten a bit busy).

Levi, Joshua, and Micah

Our family went on some groomed ski trails north of Duck Lake.

Micah and I

Since it had been warm out most of the snow had melted, but on the trail it was usually pretty good other than when there was grass at the bottom of a big hill!

Joshua and I

Psalm 147:16a He giveth snow like wool.

Summer and Fall!

We have had a busy time with Jesse’s graduation, weeding,  cherry picking, helping with Joshua’s house, picking apples, digging potatoes, starting carrot harvest and many other things!

Jesse's grad picture

After 12 years of hard work Jesse graduated from school. We had a short program including a graduation song  and a few words of encouragement from one of Jesse’s friends and a farmer Jesse has worked for. And then, of course, lots of food!

Cherry picking

Cherry picking went well except for this variety which had a lot of mold so we just picked a few.

Picking apples

Dad picking some delicious apples. Other people in our family do help pick too 🙂 . You can click here to see the price list.

The sunrise

A picture of the sunrise down the road.

Hawk with his ball

Hawk and his ball. He enjoys playing fetch and watching the yard.

Drone picture

When the guy Jesse works for harvested our field, Micah and I used his drone to take some pictures and videos.

The wheat

The wheat about to be harvested.

The sun

Micah got this picture of the sun shining through the harvest dust.

Potatoes

We dug many potatoes this year with a borrowed plow. (This is only part of them). We have several varieties of red, white, purple and Yukon gold.

The basement

They just poured the basement recently at Joshua’s house so we put in the stairs and framed the basement.

Insulation and poly

We then insulated the main floor. And you can see that they also did the poly.

The house

We worked hard to finish the stone and got done just before the weather got cold and snowy!

Another event I attended in Regina on Oct. 1st, along with Mom and Dad, was Levi’s graduation from the CPA/CGA program .

We also got most of our chickens butchered at a Hutterite Colony that is a federally inspected facility and then butchered the last few along with some friends’ chickens. We haven’t  dug many carrots yet so I don’t have any pictures…the snow has to melt first!

Another bit of exciting news is that Joshua got engaged on  August 27 to Shaylyn Fehr. Their wedding is on January 7, 2017.

Even though we didn’t want snow now, we know that, “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” Genesis 8:22.
